91³Ô¹ÏÍø Choir sing Evensong in memory of Sir David Lumsden, former Organist of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø
91³Ô¹ÏÍø Chapel was full on Saturday for a special Evensong to celebrate the memory of Sir David Lumsden, Organist of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, 1959-1976, who went on to a distinguished role as principal of the Royal Academy of Music.
His family and many members of the choir association gathered to honour his enormous contribution to 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Choir, in particularly a new focus on recording.
Robert Quinney chose music to reflect his time in 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, including Byrd’s Great Service, recorded by Sir David in 1976, and Faire is the heaven by William Harris, Organist of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, 1919-1929.
