Professor Masud Husain elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society

Professor Masud Husain has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society, the UK's national academic of sciences

Husain was one of twelve renowned Oxford researchers to be elected Fellows in recognition of their exceptional contributions to advancing scientific knowledge.

This year, over 90 outstanding researchers from across the globe have been elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society. Election to the Fellowship is one of the highest honours in the scientific world, awarded to individuals who have made impactful contributions to knowledge. New Fellows join the ranks of Stephen Hawking, Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Lise Meitner, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar and Dorothy Hodgkin.

I am thrilled to receive this honour which would not have been possible without the dedication and support of many wonderful students, fellows, postdocs and colleagues over the years.' 


Masud Husain FMedSci is Professor of Neurology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Oxford. His research group spans the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences and the Department of Experimental Psychology.
